Certificate in Acting Programme, 2026
Are you keen to study drama? Are you hardworking and ambitious to become a competent artiste on stage, television and/or cinema? Then the Certificate in Acting Programme conducted by Lanka Children’s and Youth Theatre Foundation (LCYTF) or popularly known as Somalatha Subasinghe Playhouse is the right choice for you.
The programme includes all round training such as acting, script writing and analysis, directing, movement and vocal training. Somalatha Subasinghe Playhouse, for over 35 years has been training numerous talented youth who are at present engaged in professional level work of both the theatre and television & film industry in Sri Lanka. Somalatha Subasinghe Playhouse was established by late Mrs. Somalatha Subasinghe in 1981 and later it was incorporated in the parliament of Sri Lanka under LCYTF Act No 3 of 2007.
The duration of the programme is eight months. Within this period, thirty-two in class sessions will be conducted on a weekly basis. Classes primarily are held on Sundays and depending on the necessity classes will be scheduled on other public holidays too.
The primary focus of the course is on acting, directing, script writing and dance theatre. Thus the participants will have the opportunity to learn free and structured movements, posture, body flexibility and physical balance, vocal training, pronunciation, voice projection, script writing and directing, character analysis, improvisation, plotting scenes, etc.
The programme is mainly conducted by Ms. Kaushalya Fernando who is a very experienced artiste in theatre acting, training and teaching in Sri Lanka with international exposure. She is supported by Prasanna Mahagamage, Nilanka Dahanayaka, Mayura Perera, Thisara Imbulana and Thisara Bandara in the areas of acting for camera, directing, script writing and analysis. In addition, other professional artistes from specialised fields will conduct sessions.
Those who are interested in joining the programme, primarily should possess a love for theatre and should be prepared to offer her/his full commitment to the training. Ambition and Willingness to work hard is also expected. The candidates will be selected for the programme through an interview.

රංගන පිළිබඳ සහතිකපත්ර පාඨමාලාව 2026
ඔබ රංගනය හැදෑරීමට කැමතිද? ඔබ වෙහෙස මහන්සි වී වැඩ කරන වේදිකාවේ, රූපවාහිනියේ සහ/හෝ සිනමාවේ දක්ෂ නළුවකු වීමට මහත් අපේක්ෂාවෙන් සිටීද?් එසේනම් ලංකා ළමා හා යොවුන් රඟහල පදනම හෝ ඔබ කවුරුත් දන්නා සෝමලතා සුබසිංහ ප්ලේ හවුස් ආයතනය විසින් පවත්වනු ලබන රංගන පිළිඹද සතිකපත්ර පාඨමාලාව 2026 ඔබගේ නිවැරදිම තීරණය වියහැක.
මෙම වැඩසටහනට රංගනය, තිර රචනය සහ විශ්ලේෂණය, අධ්යක්ෂණය, ශාරීරික චලනය සහ කටහඬ පුහුණුව වැනි සියලූම ආකාරයේ පුහුණුව ඇතුළත් වේ. සෝමලතා සුබසිංහ ප්ලේහවුස් වසර 40 කට අධික කාලයක් තිස්සේ ශ්රී ලංකාවේ නාට්ය හා රූපවාහිනී සහ චිත්රපට ක්ෂේත්රයේ වෘත්තීය මට්ටමේ කටයුතුවල නියැලී සිටින දක්ෂ තරුණ තරුණියන් රැුසක් පුහුණු කර ඇත. 1981 දී සෝමලතා සුබසිංහ විසින් ආරම්භ කරන ලද මෙම ආයතනය 2007 ජනවාරි මාසයේදී 2007 අංක 3 දරණ ලංකා ළමා හා යොවුන් රඟහල පදනම පනත යටතේ ශ්රී ලංකා පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ සංස්ථාපිත කරන ලදී.
වැඩසටහනේ කාලය මාස අටකි. මෙම කාල සීමාව තුළ පන්ති සැසි තිස් දෙකක් සතිපතා පවත්වනු ලැබේ. පන්ති මූලික වශයෙන් ඉරිදා දිනවල පැවැත්වෙන අතර අවශ්යතා අනුව අනෙකුත් රජයේ නිවාඩු දිනවලද පන්ති පැවැත්වීමට නියමිතය.
පාඨමාලාවේ මූලික අවධානය යොමු වන්නේ රංගනය, අධ්යක්ෂණය, පිටපත් රචනය සහ කායික රංග කලාවයි. මේ අනුව සහභාගිවන්නන්ට නිදහස් හා ව්යුහගත චලනයන්, ඉරියව්, ශරීර නම්යශීලී බව සහ ශාරීරික සමතුලිතතාවය, වාචික පුහුණුව, උච්චාරණය, කටහඬ ප්රක්ෂේපණය, තිර රචනය සහ අධ්යක්ෂණය, චරිත විශ්ලේෂණය, වැඩිදියුණු කිරීම, දර්ශන ගොඩනැගීම ආදිය ඉගෙන ගැනීමට අවස්ථාව ලැබේ.
මෙම වැඩසටහන ප්රධාන වශයෙන් මෙහෙයවනු ලබන්නේ ජාත්යන්තර නිරාවරණයක් සහිත ශ්රී ලංකාවේ නාට්ය රංගනය, පුහුණුව සහ ඉගැන්වීම පිළිබඳ ඉතා පළපුරුදු කලාකාරිනියක් වන කෞශල්යා ප්රනාන්දු විසිනි. ප්රසන්න මහගමගේ, නිලංක දහනායක, මයුර පෙරේරා සහ තිසර ඉඹුලාන රංගනය, අධ්යක්ෂණය, තිර රචනය සහ විශ්ලේෂණ සහ කැමරාවට රංගනය යන අංශවලින් ඇයට සහාය වේ. මීට අමතරව, විශේෂිත ක්ෂේත්රවල අනෙකුත් වෘත්තීය කලාකරුවන් විසින් සැසි පවත්වනු ඇත.
