Lanka Children’s and Youth Theatre Foundation (LCYTF):

Established in 1981 by the late Somalatha Subasinghe, the Lanka Children’s and Youth Theatre Foundation (LCYTF) is dedicated to fostering theatre productions and performances tailored for children and youth. Along with its theatre production and training arm, Somalatha Subasinghe Play House, it serves as a hub for actor training and research in theatre studies.  Since its establishment in 1981, the institution has curated a collection of theatre productions tailored for children and youth, primarily focusing on musical theatre. Additionally, it has developed acclaimed mainstream art theatre productions, which have been showcased both locally and internationally. Recognizing its contributions, the institution was formally incorporated into the parliament under the Act No. 3 of 2007, solidifying its status as the premier institution for children and youth theatre productions in Sri Lanka.

Introduction:

The objective of the programme is to equip participants with foundational knowledge and skills in acting, directing, script writing and dance/musical theatre. It offers comprehensive training encompassing acting on stage, television and cinema, script writing and analysis, directing, movement and vocal training. Furthermore, the participants will have the opportunity to learn free and structured movements, posture, body flexibility and physical balance, vocal training, pronunciation, voice projection, improvisation, plotting scenes, etc. 

To Whom:

Open to individuals aged seventeen (17) and above, applicants should possess a passion for theatre and a willingness to commit fully to the training. Ambition and dedication are essential qualities sought in candidates, who will undergo selection via interviews conducted either in person or virtually.    

Learning Outcomes:

This program provides participants with the chance to grasp the fundamentals of acting on stage, television, and cinema; dancing and free and structured movements; script and character analysis; plotting and scene development; vocal training, voice projection, pronunciation and improvisation. 

Resource Persons:

The program is led by Kaushalya Fernando, who has received international-level training in acting and actor training, garnered international awards, and is renowned for her performances in cinema. Additionally, Prasanna Mahagamage, Mayura Perera, and Nilanka Dahanayaka serve as resource persons for acting, directing, and script analysis and development. Chandana Aluthge leads sessions focused on structured and free movements, as well as voice projection. Additionally, training for screen acting will be facilitated by Thisara Imbulana and Thisara Bandara, emerging young film directors and scriptwriters. Furthermore, sessions will be conducted by other professional artists specializing in various fields. Each of them brings a wealth of national and international experience in actor training to the program.  

Duration and Schedule:

The program spans eight months, comprising thirty-two in-class sessions held weekly.  Typically, classes are conducted on Sundays from 8.30 am to 5:30 pm.  Depending on participants’ convenience, sessions may also be scheduled on public holidays if required.  

The program commences annually in the first/second week of January. 

Participants are requested to bring their own refreshments and attire suitable for training sessions.

Fee:

The program fee is Rs. 75,000 per participant, payable in full upon registration.  However, individuals facing financial constraints can opt to pay Rs. 50,000 upfront and settle the remaining balance in two equal instalments within the first two months of the program.  

Certification by the Lanka Children’s and Youth Theatre Foundation is granted only to participants who fulfil financial obligations and attendance requirements.  

Venue:

Sessions take place at the Lion’s Club Hall, Jayanthipura Main Road, Battaramulla. 

රංගනය පිලිඹද සහතිකපත්‍ර පාඨමාලාව 2026

ලංකා ළමා හා යවුවන රඟහල පදනම (Lanka Children’s and Youth Theatre Foundation) 1981 දී සෝමලතා සුබසිංහ විසින් ආරම්භ කරන ලද ලංකා ළමා හා යොවුන් රඟහල පදනම (LCYTF) විශේෂයෙන් ළමුන් සහ තරුණයින් සඳහා වූ නාට්‍ය නිෂ්පාදන සහ ප්‍රසංග ප්‍රවර්ධනය කරයි. එහි නාට්‍ය නිෂ්පාදන සහ පුහුණු අංශය වන සෝමලතා සුබසිංහ ප්ලේ හවුස් සමඟින්, එය රංගන ශිල්පීන් පුහුණු කිරීම සහ නාට්‍ය අධ්‍යයනය පිළිබඳ පර්යේෂණ සඳහා ද සම්බන්ධ වේ. 1981 වර්ෂයේ ආරම්භයේ සිට මෙම ආයතනය ළමා හා තරුණයන් සඳහා නාට්‍ය නිර්මාණ රැසක් නිෂ්පාදනය කර ඇති අතර ඒවායින් බොහොමයක් සංගීත නාට්‍ය ගණයට අයත් වන අතර දිවයිනේ මෙන්ම විදේශයන්හි ද රඟදැක්වෙන සම්මානලාභී ප්‍රධාන ධාරවේ නාට්‍ය ද නිර්මාණය කර ඇත. 2007 ජනවාරි මාසයේදී මෙම ආයතනය 2007 අංක 3 දරණ පනත යටතේ ශ්‍රී ලංකා පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ සංස්ථාපිත කරන ලදී. මේ වන විට ඛක්‍ශඔත්‍ යනු ශ්‍රී ලංකා වේ ළමා හා යොවුන් නාට්‍ය නිෂ්පාදන සඳහා වන ප්‍රමුඛතම ආයතනයයි.

හැදින්වීම:
වැඩසටහනේ පරමාර්ථය වන්නේ සහභාගිවන්නන්ට රංගනය, අධ්‍යක්ෂණය, පිටපත් රචනය සහ නර්තන/සංගීත නාට්‍ය පිළිබඳ මූලිකඅවබෝධය සහ පුහුණුව ලබා දීමයි. එබැවින්, මෙම වැඩසටහන මඟින් වේදිකා වේ, රූපවා හිනිය සහ සිනමා ව රංගනය, තිර රචනය සහ විශ්ලේෂණය, අධ්‍යක්ෂණය, චලනය සහ වාචික පුහුණුව ඇතුළු සියලු‍ අංග පිළිබඳ පුහුණුව ලබා දේ. සහභාගිවන්නන්ට නිදහස් හා ව්‍යුහගත චලනයන් සහ ඉරියව්, ශරීරයේ නම්‍යශීලී බව සහ ශාරීරික සමතුලිතතාවය, වාචික පුහුණුව, උච්චාරණය, කටහඬ ප්‍රක්ෂේපණය වැඩිදියුණු කිරීම සහ දර්ශන සකස්කිරීම ආදිය ඉගෙන ගැනීමට අවස්ථාව ලැබේ.

කා සඳහාද?
වයස අවුරුදු 17 සහ ඊට වැඩි පුද්ගලයින් සඳහා විවෘතයග අයදුම්කරුවන්ට නාට්‍ය රංගනය සඳහා ආශාවක් සහ පුහුණුව සඳහා සම්පූර්ණයෙන්ම කැපවීමට කැමැත්තක් තිබිය යුතුයග අභිලාෂය සහ කැපවීම අපේක්ෂකයින් තුළ අපේක්ෂා කරන අත්‍යවශ්‍ය ගුණාංග වන අතර, ඔවුන් ඔන්ලයින් හෝ හමුවී පවත්වනු ලබන සම්මුඛ පරීක්ෂණ හරහා තෝරා ගනු ලැබේ.

ඉගෙනීමේ ප්‍රථිපල:
මෙම වැඩසටහනට සහභාගිවන්නන්ට පහත සඳහන් මූලික කරුණු ඉගෙන ගැනීමට අවස්ථා ව ලබා දෙයි.
(i) වේදිකාව, රුපවාහිණිය සහ සිනමාව සඳහා රංගනය (ii) නැටුම් සහ නිදහස් හා ව්‍යුහගත චලනයන්, (iii) පිටපත සහ චරිත විශ්ලේෂණය, (iv) දර්ශන නිර්මාණය සහ සංවර්ධනය, (v) වාචික පුහුණුව, හඬ ප්‍රක්ෂේපණය, උච්චා රණය සහ, (vi) ක්ෂණික රංගනය.

සම්පත් දායකයින්:
මෙම වැඩසටහන මූලික වශයෙන් මෙහෙයවනු ලබන්නේ කෞශල්‍යා ප්‍රනාන්දු විසිනි. කෞශල්‍යා ප්‍රනාන්දු රංගනය සහ නළු පුහුණුව පිළිබඳව ජාත්‍යන්තර මට්ටමේ පුහුණුවක් ලබා ඇති අතර ඇයගේ සිනමා රංගනය ජාත්‍යන්තර සම්මානයට සහ ප්‍රශංසා වට පාත්‍ර වී ඇත. මීට අමතරව ප්‍රසන්න මහගමගේ, මයුර පෙරේරා සහ නිලංක දහනායක රංගනය, අධ්‍යක්ෂණය සහ තිර රචනය විශ්ලේෂණය සහ සංවර්ධනය පිළිබඳ සම්පත් දායකයන් වේ. ඔවුන් සියලු‍ දෙනා ම නළු පුහුණුව පිළිබඳ ජාතික හා ජාත්‍යන්තර මට්ටමේ අත්දැකීම් ලබා ඇත. චන්දන අලු‍ත්ගේ විසින් ව්‍යුහගත සහ නිදහස් චලනයන් සහ හඬ ප්‍රක්ෂේපණය පිළිබඳ සැසි පවත්වන අතර කැමරා වට රංගනය පිළිබඳ පුහුණුව නැගී එන තරුණ චිත්‍රපට අධ්‍යක්ෂ සහ තිර පිටපත් රචක තිසර ඉඹුලාන සහ තිසර බණ්ඩාර විසින් මෙහෙයවනු ලැබේ. මීට අමතරව, විශේෂිත ක්ෂේත්‍රවල අනෙකුත් වෘත්තීය කලාකරුවන් ද සැසි පවත්වනු ඇත.

කාලසීමාවල වේලාව සහ අයකිරීම:
වැඩසටහනේ කාලය මාස අටකි. කාල සීමාව තුළ, සැසි තිස් දෙකක් සතිපතා පවත්වනු ලැබේ. පන්ති සාමාන්‍යයෙන් ඉරිදා දිනවල උදේ 8ග30 සිට සවස 5.30 දක්වා පැවැත්වේ. කෙසේවෙතත් සහභාගිවන්නන්ගේ පහසුව අනුව, අවශ්‍ය විට රජයේ නිවාඩු දිනවල ද පන්ති පැවැත්වීමට හැකිය. මෙම වැඩසටහන වාර්ෂිකව පවත්වනු ලබන අතර සෑම වසරකම ජනවාරි පළමුරැදෙවන සතියේදී ආරම්භ වේ. පුහුණු සැසිවලට සහභාගිවීම සඳහා තමන්ගේම ආහාර පාන සහ සුදුසු ඇඳුම් රැගෙන එන ලෙස සහභාගිවන්නන්ගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටී.

වැඩසටහන සඳහා ගාස්තුව සහභාගිවන්නෙකුට රු.75,000/= කි. සම්පූර්ණ ගාස්තුව ලියා පදිංචියේදී ගෙවිය යුතුය. කෙසේ වෙතත්, මූල්‍ය දුෂ්කරතා ඇති අයට ලියා පදිංචියේදී රු. 50,000/= ක් ගෙවිය හැකි අතර ඉතිරි මුදල වැඩසටහනේ පළමු මාස දෙක තුළ සමාන වාරික දෙකකින් ගෙවිය හැකිය. සම්පුර්ණ පාඨමාලා ගාස්තුව ගෙවා ඇති සහ වැඩසටහනට අකණ්ඩව සහභාගී වී ඇති අයට පමණක් ලංකා ළමා හා යොවුන් රඟහල පදනමේ සහතිකය සඳහා හිමිකම් ඇත්තේය.
