Creative Activities for Children (CAC-Prog) programme May 2026
Creative activities for children programme commence its next session on 09th May 2026.
Children from ages Four to Twelve can take part in the programme. The prime objective of the programme is to develop child’s mental and physical aspects and to enhance artistic taste, cheerfulness and playful sense of the child through aesthetic experiences. Therefore, this programme can be considered as an extracurricular learning that supplements the formal education the child obtains in school. The programme gives the child the opportunity to learn the basics of enjoying and appreciating music, free movement, dance, and rhythmic movement, acting and language, art, singing, puppetry and handwork.
The programme is conducted by Prof. Chandana Aluthge. They are supported by trained artistes. The Late Mrs Somalatha Subasinghe founded Lanka Children’s and Youth Theatre Foundation in 1981 to promote theatre productions and performances specifically for children and youth, training of actors, and research on theatre studies. This organisation presently is the topmost institution for children’s and youth theatre productions in Sri Lanka. Since 1981 the organisation has produced a repertoire of mainly musical theatre for children and youth and mainstream art theatre productions and performed them in the island as well as abroad. This institution was incorporated in the parliament in January 2007 under the Act of Lanka Children’s and Youth Theatre Foundation, No. 3 of 2007 to further its quest for the young audiences in Sri Lanka.
This programme is conducted on Saturdays from 8.30 am to 11.00 am. at Battramulla Lion’s Club Activity Centre situated in Jayanthipura Main Road, Battaramulla. The details of the programme and online application are available on www.playhouse.lk

ළමුන් සඳහා නිර්මාණාත්මක ක්රියාකාරකම් වැඩසටහන – 2026 මැයි
ළමුන්ට පාසලේදී ලැබෙන විධිමත් අධ්යාපනයට එහා ගොස් ළමා පෞරුෂය ගොඩනැගීමට ඉවහල් වෙන, ළමුන් සඳහා නිර්මාණාත්මක ක්රියාකාරකම් වැඩසටහනේ මීලඟ අදියර 2026 මැයි මස 09 වන සෙනසුරාදා ආරම්භ වීමට නියමිතය.
සෝමලතා සුබසිංහ ප්ලේහවුස් (Somalatha Subasinghe Play House) මෙහෙයවන මෙම “ළමුන් සඳහා නිර්මාණාත්මක ක්රියාකාරකම් (Creative Activities for Children Programme) වැඩසටහන, පාසල් අධ්යාපනයේදී ලැබෙන පෙළපොත් සහ විෂය නිර්දේශවල සීමා ඉක්මවමින් දරුවෙකුගේ වැඩීමට දායක වේ.
මෙම වැඩසටහන මහාචාර්ය චන්දන අලුත්ගේ සහ විශේෂ පුහුණුවලත් නාට්ය ශිල්පීන් විසින් මෙහෙයවනු ලබයි.
මෙම වැඩසටහන සඳහා වයස අවුරුදු 04 සිට 12 දක්වා වයස ළමුන්ට සහභාගි විය හැක. මෙම වැඩසටහන සෙනසුරාදා දිනවල පෙරවරු 8.30 සිට පෙරවරු 11.00 දක්වා බත්තරමුල්ල ජයන්තිපුර ප්රධාන මාර්ගයෙහි පිහිටි බත්තරමුල්ල සිංහ සමාජ ශාලාවේදී පවත්වනු ලැබේ.

මෙම වැඩසටහනේ ප්රධාන පරමාර්ථය වන්නේ සෞන්දර්යාත්මක අත්දැකීම් මඟින් ළමුන්ට තුලනාත්මක කායික හා මානසික වර්ධනයක් ලබා දීම හා ළමුන්ගේ ක්රීඩාශීලිත්වය, ප්රබෝධමත්භාවය හා මූලික කලා ශිල්ප පිළිබඳව රසඥතාව වර්ධනය කිරීමය.
මෙම පාඨමාලාව ළමුන් පාසලේදි ලබා ගන්නා විධිමත් අධ්යාපනයට දායකවන අතිරේක ක්රියාකාරකම් අධ්යාපනය ලෙසද සැළකිය හැකිය. මෙම වැඩසටහනට සහභාගිවන ළමුන්ට සංගීතය රසවිඳීම සහ ඇගැයීම, නිදහස් චලන, නැටුම් හා රිද්මයානුකූල චලනය, රංගනය සහ භාෂාව, චිත්ර, ගායනය, රූකඩ සහ අත්වැඩ යනාදිය පිළිබඳ මූලිකාංග අවබෝධයට අවස්ථාවක් ලැබෙනු ඇත.
ලංකා ළමා හා යොවුන් රඟහල පදනම සහ එහි නාට්ය නිෂ්පාදන හා පුහුණු අංශය වන සෝමලතා සුබසිංහ ප්ලේහවුස් රංඟ ආයතනය ප්රවීණ ළමා නාට්යවේදීනී සෝමලතා සුබසිංහ විසින් 1981 දී ස්ථාපිත කරන ලදී.
ළමුන් හා යෞවනයන් සඳහා නාට්ය නිෂ්පාදනය හා රංගනය දියුණු කිරීම, ශිල්පීන් පුහුණු කිරීම හා නාට්ය කලාව පිළිබඳ පර්යේෂණ කිරීම මෙම ආයතනයේ අරමුණු වේ. මෙම ආයතනය ළමා හා යොවුන් නාට්ය නිෂ්පාදනය පිළිබඳව ලංකාවේ ඇති ප්රමුඛතම ආයතනයක් වේ.
1981 සිට මෙම ආයතනය මඟින් ළමුන් හා යෞවනයන් සඳහා ගීතමය නාට්ය හා වැඩිහිටි ප්රේක්ෂාගාරය සඳහා ප්රධාන ප්රවාහයේ නාට්යය ද බොහෝ සංඛ්යාවක් නිෂ්පාදනය කොට ඇති අතර ඒවා ලංකාව තුළ මෙන්ම විදේශවලදී ද රඟ දක්වා ඇත. මෙම ආයතනය 2007 ජනවාරි මාසයේදි අංක 03 දරණ ආඥා පනත මඟින් ‘ලංකා ළමා හා යොවුන් රඟහල පදනම’ ලෙස ශ්රී ලංකා පාර්ලිමේන්තුවේ සංස්ථාගත කරන ලදී.
